Badgers are nocturnal and foxes are more active at night, so food for both should be left out at dusk. Wildthings Badger and Fox Food is a selected blend of meat protein, carbohydrates and fats, with added vitamins and minerals, and the crunchy nuggets are the size and shape they love.
Badgers are omnivorous, like humans, although their diet is a bit different, they can eat up to 200 earthworms in a night; they will also eat insects, carrion, small mammals, fruit and fungi, acorns, grains and eggs. They can cause problems for householders by digging holes in lawns in the hunt for earthworms and insects, particularly during hot, dry spells; providing a suitable, alternative food, such as Wildthings Badger and Fox food, can help to alleviate damage and provide entertainment watching these fascinating visitors. Badgers do not hibernate but do spend longer underground during cold weather, so they need to build up their body weight in the late summer and autumn to survive the winter.
Not sure about the badger food. They eat the peanuts first but will buy some more and it must be good for them in the winter weather.
